Every Female Engineer is a Survivor - A Study of Defense Strategies in the Work of Female Engineers

ABSTRACT

The engineering work has peculiarities that still stand as barriers to women's role in the workspace. Like any type of work, it also generates suffering, resulting in individual defense strategies. The aim of this paper was to understand the defensive strategies applied by female engineers in the states of Bahia and Cear谩 against the suffering of work. The research is characterized as qualitative and data were treated with content analysis. As a result it was identified a new defense strategy category developed by female engineers, in addition to the ones pointed by the literature.
